Visiting the website
Each time a page is requested, the web server processes the following data and writes it to a log file (server log):
- IP address
- date and time
- the address requested (request)
- the status code of the response
- the page visited before, if the browser sends it (referrer)
- browser and operating system (user agent)
We need this data to deliver the pages, to detect and fend off attacks and to find errors. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is a secure and working website. Logs with IP addresses are deleted after 7 days.
The connection to the website is encrypted (HTTPS).
Visitor statistics
We count visits with Koko Analytics, a WordPress extension that runs on our own server. No data goes to third parties; no cookies are set and nothing is stored in your browser.
To count a visitor only once per day, the extension makes a checksum (hash) from the IP address, the browser identification (user agent) and a random value that is created anew each day. The IP address cannot be calculated back from it. The checksums are deleted once a day together with the random value; the IP address itself is not stored.
Only totals are kept: page views and visitors per page and day, the websites visitors come from (referrers) and the campaign details in links (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign), for example from posters. They do not allow conclusions about individuals.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is to know the reach of the event, to improve the website and to give partners and sponsors overall figures. If you do not want to be counted, turn off JavaScript or use a tracking blocker; the website keeps working.
Cookies
Visitors get no cookies from this website. Only people who log in to edit the website (our team) get the cookies WordPress needs for logging in (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG).
Fonts, images and scripts
Fonts, icons, images and scripts are on our own server. Viewing the pages loads nothing from other servers: no fonts from Google, no files from content delivery networks.
Videos from YouTube
We show recordings of past competitions from YouTube, but only after a click. Until then the page shows a placeholder, and no data goes to YouTube.
When you click “Load video”, your browser loads the player from youtube-nocookie.com, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. YouTube then receives, among other things, your IP address, details of your browser and the address of our page, and may use cookies or similar techniques in your browser. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
The legal basis is your consent by clicking (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG). It covers only that one video and only while the page is open; after reloading, the placeholder is back. More in Google’s privacy policy.
Links to other websites
We link to other websites, for example the ticket shop (eveeno), the live streams (sporteurope.tv), Sportity, Instagram, the results pages, the ISU entry system, the hotel booking, BVG and OpenStreetMap. These providers get data only when you follow a link; their privacy policy applies then. Our website tells them only our domain name, not the exact page.
Contact by e-mail
If you write to us, we process your address and your message to answer (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR for questions about tickets or taking part, otherwise (f)). We delete the messages once they are dealt with, unless statutory retention periods apply.
Results, photos and videos of the competition
Results with names, federation or nation and scores are published, as are photos and videos of the competition, including the live stream. Participants or their legal representatives agree to this with their entry by their federation (Announcement, “Data protection and publication of results”). Spectators in the hall may also be seen in photos and in the live stream (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is reporting on the event). If you do not want to be shown, write to us.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You may object to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21). You can withdraw a consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3)). Please contact us at the address above.
You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one responsible for us: Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany, datenschutz-berlin.de.
